Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Robert Duax, So. (Dubuque, IA/Hempstead) Guard – Duax averaged 15.6, six rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.6 steals in three games last week while helping the Pioneers to get off to a 3-0 start for the 2016-17 season. The sophomore totaled 21 points and six rebounds in 26 minutes Nov. 18 against, 20th-ranked NAIA opponent Lindsey Wilson (KY). In the Pioneers’ 77-58 win Nov. 19 over Colorado College, Duax registered a game-high 16 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists and two steals in the final game of the Gabe Miller Tip Off Classic. |

Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Allison Prestegaard, So. (Amboy, IL/Ashton-Franklin Center) Center – Prestegaard was a perfect six-for-six from the floor and went three-for-four from the free throw line in the Pioneers’ win over Blackburn college on Nov. 19. In the 88-36 route, the sophomore had eight blocks and grabbed three rebounds to help the Pioneers get their first win of the season. For the week, Prestegaard averaged 11.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.33 blocks per game. |

Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week – Ian LaMere, Sr. (Green Bay, WI/Southwest) – LaMere won his second consecutive cross country national championship on Saturday, Nov. 19. His final time of 23:40.4 is the second fastest winning time ever. He now has the two fastest winning times in championship history. The senior won by 29-seconds, which tied him for the second largest margin of victory ever. |

Cross Country Female Athlete of the Week – Chelsey Heiden, Sr. (Greendale, WI) – Heiden capped her career running a personal best at the national championships. She finished 66th in a time of 21:43.8. The senior now becomes the fifth fastest Pioneer in school history over 6 kilometers. This was her first appearance at a national championship. |
