Pioneers name athletes of the week
Kaite Asche, Sophomore (Pecatonica, Ill./Durand) – Volleyball - Middle Blocker - Offense Asche totaled 45 kills (2.37 per set) and hit .324 in the Pioneers' 5-0 week. Asche began the week with nine kills in the win over Carroll (Wis.) on Sept. 11. In day one of the UW-Platteville invite Asche had eight kills and six kills in the wins over Edgewood and Cornell, respectively. On day two of the tournament Asche had 10 kills with a .308 hitting percentage in the win over Olivet and 12 kills with an incredible .647 hitting percentage in the win over Bethany Lutheran. |

Markie Ash, Sophomore (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) - Golf Ash places 2nd overall at the Clarke Fall Classic at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa in Galena, Ill.. She shot a fantastic 79 on Saturday on the challenging South course and followed that up with a great 83 on the equally tough North course on Sunday. With firing these great scores, Ash helped the Pioneers claim their second victory in a row. |
Stephanie Kalinowski, Freshman (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) Volleyball - Libero - Defense Kalinowski totaled 101 digs (5.32 per set) in the Pioneers' 5-0 week. Kalinowski started the week with 20 digs in the win over Carroll (Wis.) on Sept. 11. In day one of the UW-Platteville invite Kalinowski had 22 digs in the win over Edgewood and added 16 digs in the win over Cornell. On day two of the tournament Kalinowski had 23 digs in the win over Olivet and 20 digs in the win over Bethany Lutheran. |

Mariah Kennedy, Junior (Bettendorf, Iowa./Bettendorf) Women's Soccer - Goalkeeper - Defense In Kennedy's first start of the season, she led UW-Platteville to their first win of the season on September 14 against St. Norbert. The Knights tallied 20 shots and Kennedy recorded 13 saves in the match. Kennedy earned the first shutout win of the season for the Pioneers.

Alyssa Marroquin, Freshman (Plainfield, Ill./Central) Women's Soccer - Midfielder - Offense Marroquin led the offense for UW-Platteville last week. She tallied two shots, one on goal, and had the lone assist in the Pioneers' 1-0 win over St. Norbert on September 14. Marroquin's distribution in the midfield led to the majority of the Pioneers' offensive opportunities. |

Samantha Meyer, Freshman (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth) - Women's Cross Country Meyer competed in the Tom Hoffman Invitational at UW-Whitewater and finished with a time of 31:23.4 which was good for 43rd place. |

Brett Grisar, Freshman (Saukville, Wis./Port Washington) - Men's Cross Country Grisar finished in 22nd place with a time of 29:22.4 at UW-Whitewater's Tom Hoffman Invitational. Grisar ran at a 5:55/mile pace. |
