Pioneers name athletes of the week
Women's Basketball - Morgan Horstman, Junior (Bangor, Wis./Bangor) - Guard Horstman averaged 19.5 points and 8 rebounds during the week. In a loss against UW-Whitewater, Horstman tallied a double-double scoring 14 points on 5-of-15 shooting, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. In an 78-68 win over UW-Stout, Horstman recorded a season-high 25 points on 7-of-16 (43.4 percent) shooting, including 3-of-5 from behind the arc, and 8-of-12 from the free-throw line and pulled down 6 rebounds.

Men's Basketball - Robert Duax, Senior (Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead) - Forward Duax averaged 21.5 points and shot 53.3 percent (16-of-30) from the field in a 1-1 week for the Pioneers. Duax had 18 points, four rebounds, a steal and a block in an 88-80 loss to UW-Whitewater on Jan. 23. In the 83-73 win over UW-Stout on Jan 26, Duax scored 25 points on 76.9 percent (10-of-13) shooting from the field and added six rebounds, two assists and two steals. |
Women's Track - Katie Schilling, Sophomore (Saint Peter, Minn./St. Peter) - 60 Hurdles Schilling finished first in the 60 hurdles at the UW-Platteville Open this past weekend. Her time of 9.23 seconds in the trials moves her to #2 on the UW-Platteville All Time List and #6 in the WIAC. |

Women's Field - Brianna Hall, Junior (Westby, Wis./Westby) Shot Put Ehlen won the pole vault competition at the WIAC Triangular involving Platteville, Eau Claire and Stevens Point. Her winning height of 3.67 meters (12' .5") ranks #1 in the WIAC and #7 on the NCAA National list. |

Men's Track - Alec Burcham, Senior (Mount Horeb, Wis./Mount Horeb) 400 meters Burcham won the 400-meter dash at the UW-Platteville Open this past weekend. His personal best time of 49.93 currently ranks #1 in the WIAC and is the 10th best performance in the NCAA. |

Men's Field - Noah Steiner, Junior (Monticello, Iowa/Monticello) High Jump Steiner won the high jump at the UW-Platteville Open. Steiner's jump of 2.06 meters (6' 9") currently ties him for #1 in the WIAC and #5 in the NCAA. |

Lucius Rinehart, Sophomore (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) Heavyweight Rinehart (23-4) led the Pioneers to a fifth-place finish of 38 teams at the Wheaton Invite. Rinehart advanced to the championship round at 285 pounds and fell short to Otterbein University's undefeated Drew Kasper (24-0) by an 11-2 major decision. |
