Pioneers rally for win over Clarke
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team defeated the Clarke University Crusaders 3-2 on Tuesday at Williams Fieldhouse 25-20, 20-25, 25-20, 19-25, and 15-11, handing the visitors just their second loss of the year.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team defeated the Clarke University Crusaders 3-2 on Tuesday at Williams Fieldhouse 25-20, 20-25, 25-20, 19-25, and 15-11, handing the visitors just their second loss of the year.
Junior outside hitter Allison Jensen finished well for the Pioneers, recording 18 kills in the five sets, followed by senior middle hitter Lidia Frias and senior right side hitter Amber Williams each logging 10. Junior setter Allie Carter finished with 31 assists, while sophomore setter Grace Austin logged 18 digs helping to lead the Pioneers to victory over the previous 8-1 Crusaders.
The Pioneers, 2-8 on the year, return to action on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. versus the Augustana College Vikings and the Grinnell College Pioneers at the Augustana College Tournament in Rock Island, Illinois.
