Pioneers Draw At Home Against Augustana
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer scored two early goals, but the Augustana Vikings rallied back to tie the game and force the 2-2 draw on Tuesday afternoon inside the Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

Freshman Maddi Spencer-Strong scored her second goal of the season in the fourth minute to give the Pioneers an early lead. Freshman Jenna Gravitt assisted on the goal off a corner kick, her sixth assist on the season.
In the 12th minute, freshman Madeline Ohlwein increased the Pioneer lead to two with her first goal of the season. Ohlwein fired a shot to the lower right corner following a headed pass from Lydia Smith, who collected her fifth assist on the year.
Augustana responded in the 20th minute, cutting the deficit to one on a shot that deflected off a Viking and into the back of the net. The visitors had two more shots for the remainder of the half, but the Pioneers took a one goal lead into the break.
The Vikings evened the score at two in the 72nd minute on a corner kick. UW-Platteville had four shots in the closing minutes, including on goal, but the Augustana defense kept the game tied as time expired.
The Pioneers led in shots 19-9 and in shots on goal 7-5. Gravitt posted a team-high three shots, and seven different players recorded a shot on target. Senior goalkeeper Emma Ball stopped three shots.
UW-Platteville will play its next three games on the road, starting Thursday, Sept. 22 when it travels to Cornell College for a 4:30 p.m. match.
