Pioneers drop road contest at La Crosse
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team dropped a WIAC road game at UW-La Crosse Wednesday night. The Eagles (12-2-2, 5-0-0 WIAC), who are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll, defeated the Pioneers ( 8-4-3, 0-4-1 WIAC) 2-0 Wednesday night at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team dropped a WIAC road game at UW-La Crosse Wednesday night. The Eagles (12-2-2, 5-0-0 WIAC), who are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll, defeated the Pioneers ( 8-4-3, 0-4-1 WIAC) 2-0 at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
UW-La Crosse pulled out to a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute as Ellie Behnke found the back of the net for the first goal of the evening. The 1-0 lead held through halftime until the Eagles doubled their lead in the 72nd minute when Natalie Schisel from Ainsley Allan scored to take a 2-0 lead.
Overall, UW-Platteville tallied four shots with three on goal while UW-La Crosse fired off 26 shots with 10 on frame in the 90 minutes of play.
Junior Emma Ball recorded eight saves while Quinn Shannon tallied two saves in goal for the Eagles.
The Pioneers will hit the road again for another WIAC contest on Saturday, Oct. 23 and travel to UW-Stevens Point with game time set for 1 p.m.
