PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team will be returning 20 letter winners for the upcoming season, along with bringing in key freshmen to help replace a few impact players lost from last season, during which the Pioneers recorded an overall record of 9-10.
Head Coach Allison Stringer and the Pioneers will have two All-Conference players in senior Julie Divita and junior Emily Phillips return from last season, along with junior forward Yamilex Yaramillo, sophomore midfielders Betty Rodriguez and Bianca Mahoney and senior defender Katie Rogers. Juniors Mandy Taylor and Katie Rash will split time between the posts as goalkeepers for the Pioneers.
"We were extremely young last year with 21 underclassmen on our roster," said Stringer. "We lost some key players to graduation but I am excited about who might step up and fill those roles."
The team will open its season at Cornell College on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 1 P.M.
