Divita and Phillips garner All-WIAC honors
UW-Platteville's Julie Divita and Emily Phillips were selected women's soccer All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) by the league coaches on Tuesday.
MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Julie Divita and Emily Phillips were selected women's soccer All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) by the league coaches on Tuesday.
Divita, a midfielder from Orland Park, Ill., was a key facilitator to the Pioneer offense as she led the team in all offensive statistical categories. She recorded a team-best 14 points with six assists and four goals. Her six assists ranked her third in the WIAC. She two of her four goals were game winners.
Phillips, a defender from La Porte City, Iowa, anchored the Pioneer defense that totaled six shutouts and only allowed 23 goals. She tallied six points from the backline and scored the game-winning goal in the Pioneers 3-2 victory at Buena Vista on Oct. 21.
Freshman Bianca Mahoney was named to the conference All-Sportsmanship Team for her display of exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.
