Larson and Boyle finish top-3 at Loras Duhawk Open
The highlights for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s wrestling team, at the Loras Duhawk Open, came from Pioneers’ sophomore 285-pound Brandon Boyle and senior 174-pound Trent Larson.
DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The highlights for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's wrestling team, at the Loras Duhawk Open, came from Pioneers' sophomore 285-pound Brandon Boyle and senior 174-pound Trenton Larson.
Boyle won his final match of the day over teammate Kyle Andreae to earn third place for his weight class.
Larson won his third place match by way of pinning Northwestern's Nicholas Null.
Sophomore 133-pound Zach Stenger made it all the way to the third place match, but ended up losing by way of fall.
Among the teams that competed with the Pioneers at the Loras Duhawk open included UW-LaCrosse, UW-Whitewater, Upper Iowa, Know College, Northwestern (Iowa), and host Loras College.
The Pioneers have a few weeks off before they hit the mats again at the WIAC championship in Oshkosh on Feb. 15.
