Pioneers take first at Viterbo/UW-La Crosse Invite
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team was first of six teams at the Viterbo/UW-La Crosse Invite over the weekend at the La Crosse Country Club.
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team was first of six teams at the Viterbo/UW-La Crosse Invite over the weekend's competition at the La Crosse Country Club.
The Pioneers led after one day of competition and held on to the lead with a two round score of 700.
Sophomore Markie Ash finished in fourth place overall out of 43 golfers and led her team while tallying 85 strokes in round one and two for a two-day-total of 170.
Junior Cortney Olson was right behind Ash in fifth place overall with rounds of 88 and 87 for a total of 175 strokes.
Senior Alysse Elko finished sixth after two days, recording 85 strokes in round one and 91 in round two for a total of 176.
Rounding out the Pioneers' five was junior Kaley Mumma (88, 96) with 184 strokes and sophomore Riley Redell (105, 91) with 197 strokes.
Sophomore Emily Veenhuis (93, 103) and freshman Myah Sirens (120, 117) competed individually over the weekend.
The Pioneers travel to Dubuque, Iowa next weekend for the Clarke Invite from Sept. 14-15.
