Elko claims top spot at Marian Spring Invite
FOND du LAC, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville golf team finished second at the Marian College Spring Invite this past weekend with Alyssa Elko taking first place at the tournament.
FOND du LAC, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville golf team finished second at the Marian College Spring Invite this past weekend with Alysse Elko taking first place at the tournament.
UW-Platteville as a team finished second overall scoring 747 for the two day total and falling just four strokes behind first place St. Norbert.
Elko finished after two days in first place with a two day total of 174. Elko scored 83 on day one and set herself up in prime position for the top spot going into day two.
Teammate Kaley Mumma also finished in the top five by finishing tied for fourth place with a score of 184.
Cortney Olson scored 190, Riley Redell tallied 199, and Emily Veenhuius scored 221 to round out the team score.
The Pioneers will return to action on April 19 and 20 when they travel to Beloit, Wisconsin for the Whitewater Spring Fling.
