PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — Stephanie Baribeau, a junior from Cameron, Wis. and record-holding golfer at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, has been named first team in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Baribeau's season was far from average. She beat her own UW-Platteville record for 54 holes by two strokes, her third place performance at the WIAC Championships was the second-best in the history of UW-Platteville women's golf and she had an average of 82.5 for 18 holes for the season.
"Steph's confidence has grown from her experiences as a sophomore and freshman," said Pete Reif, head coach of the women's golf team. "She is a very humble person about her golf and post-round always talks about the shots she missed, never about the number of birdies, pars or greens hit in regulation—her goal is to try and do it better."
Baribeau is only the second golfer in UW-Platteville history to be named first team All-WIAC.
"We are extremely proud of Stephanie's accomplishments thus far and believe there's more to come."
