UW-Platteville’s Egnarski Named Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete
University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Taylor Egnarski has been chosen the recipient of the 2015 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Judy Kruckman Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete Award. The award is presented by Badgerland Financial.
MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Taylor Egnarski has been chosen the recipient of the 2015 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Judy Kruckman Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete Award. The award is presented by Badgerland Financial.
A senior from Watertown, Wis., Egnarski boasts a 3.92 grade point average and is majoring in media studies with a minor in business administration. She is a two-time All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, earning the honor in 2012-13 and 2014-15. Egnarski is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and been recognized on UW-Platteville's Dean's List and Gabe Miller Academic Honor Roll numerous semesters. She has earned various academic scholarships from her institution.
Egnarski tied for 17th at this year's WIAC championship for her best career finish at the meet. She is a three-time letterwinner and claimed the team's Shoot Out Champion (2013, 2014), Most Birdies Co-Champion (2014) and Most Fairways Hit (2012) awards.
Egnarski is a member of numerous clubs, organizations and associations, including UW-Platteville's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Public Relations Organization, American Marketing Association Chapter and student newspaper. She has volunteered with Bread and Roses, as well as the Avalon Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Egnarski was the 2013 Dodge County Fairest of the Fair and Top 10 Wisconsin State Fairest of the Fair in 2013. She has been accepted to present her research on aesthetics at the National Communication Association Annual Conference.
Her campus work experience includes serving as an information center attendant, student center manager and digital marketing manager. In addition, she has worked as a creative design consultant and events worker for Case IH.
The WIAC Scholar-Athlete Award is named after Judy Kruckman who served as Assistant Commissioner for the WIAC from 1996-98. Prior to this appointment, she was Commissioner of the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WWIAC) from October 1984 - September 1996. Kruckman was the women's athletics director at UW-Eau Claire from 1974-84, and one of the original representatives to the WWIAC when it formed in 1971.
In order to be nominated for the scholar-athlete award, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.50 grade point average. In addition, she must be in her last year of competition, or on schedule to graduate this academic year, and have competed for a minimum of two years.
