Megan Wilson, a member of two Wisconsin high school championship teams and an NCAA Division III national championship squad, is in her ninth season as the head women's basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Wilson led the Pioneers to two of their best back-to-back seasons in school history in 2013-14 and 2014-15.  In 2014-15, the Pioneers finished 15-11 and finished tied for fourth in the WIAC for the second season in a row, a feat that has been accomplished only one other time in program history.  The Pioneers hosted the first home WIAC tournament game in program history.   THe Pioneers shattered the single-season turnover average, limiting themselves to just 12.9 turnovers-per-game, which was good for eighth best in Division III.

UW-Platteville's 2014-15 campaign was successful in large part due to the outstand performance of four all-WIAC student athletes in Alyssa Krajco, Stacy Clark, Rachel Cropp, and Taylor Lorbiecki.  Clark and Krajco each earned first team honors, while Cropp was named honorable mention. Krajco ranked second in the WIAC in scoring at 17.5 points per game and led the league in rebounding at 7.9 rebounds per game.  Clark finished her career as one of the most efficient shooters in Pioneer history, setting a new program record for career field goal percentage at 49.7 percent.  Cropp ranked 28th nationally with her assist-to-turnover ratio, and joined Krajco in becoming only one of three Pioneers to play in more than 100 games, and her 106 assists made her only one of four Pioneers to distribute 100 assists in a single season.  Lorbiecki ranked second in the league with 4.35 assists per game, and her 113 assists is good for third all-time in Pioneer history for a single season.  

In 2013-14, the Pioneers finished with a 13-13 record and finished tied for fourth in the WIAC. UW-Platteville's season was highlighted with a season sweep of UW-Stevens Point for the first time since 1995 and three all-WIAC selections. Clark and Krajco each earned first team honors, while Cropp was named honorable mention.  Krajco also received all-region recognition by D3hoops.com, as she ranked second in the WIAC in scoring with 17 points per contest and third in rebounding with 7.4 boards per game. Her 442 points was the seventh most in a season in school history. 

She guided three Pioneers to all-WIAC recognition in her first four seasons, including Liz Lawinger twice in 2011-12 and 2012-13 as well as Kim Wellnitz in 2011-12 and Ashley Callahan in 2010-11. 

In addition to her duties as the head women's basketball coach, Wilson serves as the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator.

As Megan Hodgson, she played on Coach Jim Myers' Barneveld's 1998 and 1999 WIAA Division IV state championship squads, co-captaining the latter team. She then went on to play at UW-Stevens Point, where she was a member of the 2002 NCAA Division III national championship squad. She captained both the 2001-02 and 2002-03 Pointer teams.

"I've been very fortunate to been a part of very successful programs, both in high school at Barneveld and as a student-athlete and as an assistant coach at UW-Stevens Point," Wilson said. "Over the past 15 years, I've been lucky enough to be mentored by two of the top coaches in the state of Wisconsin in Jim Myers and Shirley Egner. I'm proud to say they have both been very strong influences in making me the person and coach I am today, and for that I am grateful."

Working under Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame member Shirley Egner, Wilson spent four years (2005-09) as the recruiting coordinator for UW-Stevens Point. She helped bring in the talent that accumulated a four-year record of 86-24, including 47-17 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Pointers won WIAC championships in 2007-08 and 2008-09, earning NCAA III national tournament appearances both years. The 2009 Pointer squad advance to the Sweet Sixteen.

"She has been a winner in high school and college and had success as a coach in our league, the WIAC," said Mark Molesworth, Athletic Director at UW-Platteville. "She had major responsibilities in recruiting players to UW-Stevens Point who had success on the conference and national level."

Wilson earned her bachelor of science degree in 2003, majoring in business administration and minoring in computer information systems. She also earned her master's from UW-Stevens Point in 2008 in general education. Wilson was class valedictorian at Barneveld and a member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll at UW-Stevens Point.

She moved to Lancaster in 2009 with her husband, Josh, who is a chiropractor at Whitty Chiropractic. They have twin boys, Aidan and Brody, and a daughter, Palmer.
