Pioneers fall to Blugolds

The Pioneers (7-9, 1-4 WIAC) started strong and finished strong but the Blugolds (13-3, 4-1 WIAC) had a 12-point advantage during the second and third quarter which proved to be the difference.
The Pioneers shot better than their season average in all three shooting categories 43.3 percent (36-of-60) from the field, 35 percent (7-of-20) from 3-point range and 71.4 percent (5-of-7) from the free throw line. The Pioneers were sharing the ball well and finished with 20 assists to the Blugolds 19.
Sophomore Maiah Domask led the scoring for the Pioneers and finished with 22 points on 56.3 percent shooting (9-of-16), 12 rebounds and three assists. Junior Morgan Horstman led the team with six assists.
The Pioneers host UW-Steven's Point on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3 p.m on Bo Ryan Court.
