Hartman scores seven points in final home game as a Pioneer

PLATTEVILLE — Senior guard Morgan Hartman played the final home game of her UW–Platteville career Wednesday night.
The Rochester, Minn. native finished with seven points, six rebounds and one steal in her final game on Bo Ryan Court as the Pioneers closed out their home schedule with a 69–55 loss to visiting UW–Stevens Point. Hartman was honored with a Senior Day presentation prior to Saturday's loss to UW–Oshkosh. She finished with eight points and five rebounds in Saturday's 91–71 loss to the WIAC champion Titans (22–2, 12–1).
Sophomore forward Lexis Macomber (Lanark, Ill.) scored a team-high 12 points off the bench on 6 of 10 shooting to lead the Pioneers on Wednesday. Junior guard Blaire Lutes (Shullsburg) hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 10 points.
Sophomore center Allison Prestegaard (Amboy, Ill.) had eight points and six boards, and sophomore guard Morgan Horstman (Bangor) chipped in seven points and four rebounds.
The Pioneers fell to 6–18 on the season and 2–11 in the WIAC with their eight straight loss. UW–Platteville close out the season Saturday afternoon at UW–River Falls (7–17, 2–11 WIAC) at 3 p.m.
Autumn Hennes scored a game-high 21 points and had three rebounds and two steals to lead the Pointers, who improved to 17–7 overall and 9–4 in the conference. Lauren Anklam (13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists), Mickey Roland (12 points, 8 rebounds) and Lexi Roland (10 points) also reached double figures for the visitors.
The first half was a defensive battle. UWSP got out to a quick 9–2 lead and pushed the lead to 19–12 midway through the second quarter. But the Pioneers closed the half on an 11–2 run over the final 4:27 to take a 23–21 halftime lead. UW–Platteville tied the game at 19–19 on a Lutes' 3-pointer and took the lead on a Hartman jumper with 1:49 left in the half.
The Pointers scored the first five points of the second half and never relinquished the lead. UWSP used a 14–3 run to build a 43–32 lead late in the third quarter.
UW–Stevens Point pushed the lead to as many as 18 points at 69–51 on a 3-pointer by Anklam with two minutes left.
