PLATTEVILLE, Wis. —Two members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s basketball team were honored in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for their outstanding efforts throughout the season.
Junior Elisa Bilderback earned honorable mention accolades while fellow junior Morgan Hartman secured a spot on the All-Sportsmanship team.
A Platteville native, Bilderback logged a total of 295 points this season, including a points-per-game average of 12.8 and a free throw percentage of 75. She also recorded a total of 128 rebounds on the season.
“I’m very proud of the progress that Elisa has made since becoming a Pioneer as a sophomore,” said head coach Megan Wilson. “Her ability to score in a variety of ways around the hoop and ability to consistently knock down mid-range jumpers makes her a tough match up for our opponents.”
Originally from Rochester, Minnesota, Hartman has played in every single game in her career as a Pioneer, and according to Wilson, she proves to show a certain leadership quality both on the court and off.
“Morgan is a great role model and leader for our younger student-athletes,” said Wilson. “When you have a young team like we did this year, you’re thankful for someone like her leading the way.”
As a team, the Pioneers finished 5-20 overall, including 2-12 in the WIAC. The women outrebounded their opponents 1090 to 1051, averaging 43.6 rebounds per game and had more blocks on the season with 124, averaging five per game.
