Missed shots crucial in women’s basketball loss to Blugolds

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. —The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team fell to the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds 77-45 on Wednesday in Eau Claire, Wis.
Junior Elisa Bilderback was the high scorer with nine points for the Pioneers, who fell to 4-11 on the season. Freshman Lexis Macomber tallied the highest rebounds in the loss with eight.
After a big Blugold first quarter, the Pioneers found themselves down 30-11 to start the second.
In the second quarter, the Pioneers created some rhythm, outscoring the Blugolds 15-9 to shrink the margin to 13 at 39-26 at the half.
After a Bluegold lay-up early in the third quarter, it was all Eau Claire from there.
The Pioneers couldn't seem sink a shot, shooting a 31.3 field goal percentage, falling 77-45 to the Blugolds.
As a team, the Pioneers outscored the Blugolds 19-13 in bench points in the loss.
The Pioneers continue WIAC action on Saturday, Jan. 23 at UW-River Falls in River Falls at 3 p.m.
