PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s basketball team will welcome new Assistant Coach Alexa Tovella to the squad for the 2015-16 season. Aside from coaching, she will also be teaching courses for the Department of Health and Human Performance.
Tovella comes to UW-Platteville after spending the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at Edgewood College in Madison, Wis. “We are very excited to have Alexa join our staff,” said Megan Wilson, head coach of the women’s basketball team. “Her passion and knowledge for the game of basketball was evident from the first time I met her.”
Prior to coaching, Tovella played four years of basketball at Barton College, a Division II school in North Carolina, where she contributed to three NCAA appearances for the Bulldogs. Aside from basketball, Tovella also ran four years of cross country and track and field.
After graduating from Barton with a bachelor’s in health and physical education, she went on to receive her master’s from Edgewood College in athletic administration and principalship.
