Second half slump lands Pioneer loss, 67-52
After being outscored in the second half, 43-25, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s basketball team lost to UW-Superior 67-52 on Saturday at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium in Superior.

SUPERIOR, Wis. -- After being outscored in the second half, 43-25, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team lost to UW-Superior 67-52 on Saturday at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium in Superior.
The Pioneers' first lead of the eveing came at the 5:11 mark when senior Alyssa Krajco grabbed two of her 21 points to make it 14-16.
Along with leading the Pioneers in scoring, Krajco went 9-14 from the field and notched 10 rebounds.
The Pioneers held the lead through the first half as senior Stacy Clark finished the period with a free throw, sending the women into the locker room with a 27-23 lead.
Clark finished the night with 10 points, going 4-9 from the field, with two rebounds.
About seven minutes into the second half, the Pioneers lost the lead, 33-35. From that time, the margin of lead of was no greater than five until nine minute left in the game, 40-47.
The Pioneers tried to battle back, but the closest they got to the Yellowjackets was four at the 6:18 mark, 47-51.
From there the Yellowjackets went on a 16-5 run as they defeated the Pioneers 67-52.
Junior Taylor Lorbiecki led all facilitators with seven assists.
The Pioneers return to Bo Ryan Court on Feb. 4 to take on the Titans of UW-Oshkosh.
