Combined Efforts Earns Women's Basketball Victory
A joint effort of seniors’ Alyssa Krajco and Stacy Clark’s 16 points and 6 rebounds apiece brought the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s basketball team a victory over UW-Stout Saturday night at Bo Ryan Court.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- A joint effort of seniors' Alyssa Krajco and Stacy Clark's 16 points and six rebounds apiece brought the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team a victory over UW-Stout Saturday night at Bo Ryan Court.
After trailing 6-2 the Pioneers rallied, going 5-6 from the field taking a 13-8 lead, eight minutes into the first period.
With a 40 percent shooting average, going 12-for-30 in the first period, the Pioneers saw a 27-19 lead heading into halftime.
The closest the Blue Devils reached the Pioneers was four at the 12:07 mark, 37-33.
The Pioneers controlled the scoring as well as the boards, as junior guard Taylor Lorbiecki snagged five of her 11 rebound in the second half of play.
With 3:30 left in the game, the Blue Devils closed the gap to within six, 56-50, but a pair of free throws by Rachel Cropp followed by a layup from Clark pushed the Pioneers ahead, not allowing the Blue Devils to within eight for the rest of the game.
Good game management and clutch free throws by the Pioneers, at the end of play helped secure a 65-55 victory.
The women will travel to UW-Whitewater on Wednesday Jan. 28 to take on the Warhawks for another WIAC contest.
