Pioneer Track and Field prepare for modified WIAC Last Chance Meet
Platteville, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams will travel to UW-Whitewater to compete in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s last chance meet on Saturday, March 6.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the top 12 performers in the WIAC will be invited to the event. A combined 22 Pioneer student-athletes have qualified for the event.
Junior Bryce Bierman will enter the event with the second-best height in the high jump. Bierman cleared 2.02 meters (6'7.5") at the second UW-Stevens Point dual on Feb. 20. Evan Daley of UW-La Crosse enters with the top mark of 2.06m (6'9").
Bierman will be joined by Cade VanHout (60m dash), Cole Stugelmeyer, Jacob Rice (60m hurdles), Adam Wildman (long jump), Wes Pink (triple jump), Ben Veverka (shot put and weight throw), Justin Eichler (shot put), Caleb Christiansen (3,000m), Isaac Nauansacksy (pole vault), Riley Coulter and Joey Madsen (5,000m)
Junior Kaitlyn Galgon will enter the event with the sixth best time in the 800m dash, with a time of 2:19.27. Zanzie Demco of UW-Oshkosh will enter the event with the top time of 2:15.58. Galgon will also run in the 4x400m relay with teammates Katie Schilling, Kathryn Holter and Jess Buss.
Senior Gwen Orr qualified in two events. Orr will compete in the 60m dash, and 200m dash.
Jordan Meciej and Casey Rielly will compete in the pole vault, while Paulina Wienke will compete in the weight throw. Natalie Kreier and Samantha Meyer will compete in the 3,000m race.
The Last Chance Meet will be the final meet of the 2021 indoor track and field season before the outdoor track and field season begins.
