Why did you choose UW-Platteville? I wanted to attend a school with a good engineering program that still allowed me to compete in collegiate track and field.
On Saturday, Feb. 3, The UW-Platteville track and field team traveled to Wartburg College in Waverly, IA for the Wartburg Indoor Select. Teams in attendance included Wartburg College, St. Thomas University, Simpson College, Central College, University of Dubuque, and UW-River Falls.
The Pioneer track and field team competed at the UW-Platteville Select meet on Saturday, Jan. 27. In attendance was University of Dubuque, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Lawrence, Edgewood, Marian, Lakeland University, and Rockford.
The Pioneers opened the season competing at the Bob Eubanks Open hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan. Sophomore Rachel Beuthin, the Pioneers lone returning individual national qualifier, opened the season with a 13.84m (45-5) shot put which currently ranks her third in the nation. Coming off of a national qualifying cross country season, sophomore Johanna Meister won the 800m with a time of 2:19.11. Meister was followed closely by freshman teammate Kaitlyn Galgon in 2:20.63.
