The Pioneers won four events, including a record-setting day by Amber Williams. She won both the long and triple jumps, breaking the Williams Fieldhouse record in both events. She took the triple jump in 11.98 meters, breaking the five-year-old facility record of 11.78. Williams topped her own fieldhouse mark in the long jump at 5.81 meters.
Jason Henkins won the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.68, nipping UW-La Crosse's Garrett Kerska at the wire.
The men's 4x200-meter relay team of Brandon Navin, Mitch Dowell, Caleb Mertens and Jerime Richards won its race in 1:30.56, six-hundredths of a second ahead of UW-Eau Claire. The quartet became the first from UW-Platteville to win that event since 1970.
Three more Pioneers earned second team all-WIAC honors. Caitlin Thompson earned second in the high jump at 1.66 meters, while Joel Walden was runner-up in the mile at 4:12.23 and Garrett Riggs second in the pole vault at 4.77.
The Pioneer men were fifth and the women sixth in their respective team standings. UW-La Crosse won its 14th straight men's title and third consecutive women's crown.
