Pioneer men take fifth, women seventh at WIAC Championships
UW-Platteville men’s track and field team finished fifth and the women’s team placed seventh at the WIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's track and field team finished fifth and the women's team placed seventh at the WIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday.
UW-La Crosse claimed the top spot for both genders, marking the 12th consecutive Eagles' men's championships.
Men's Results
T.J. Valley highlighted the men's team's day, tying the WIAC record in the 60-meter hurdles at a time of 8.11 seconds on his way to a first-place finish.
School-record holder Jared Bradfish took second place at 4.75 meter in the pole vault, while Garrett Riggs took fifth at 4.60 meters.
Ian LaMere had a solid day, placing second in the 5,000-meter run with a time 14:32.82, and took fourth place (8:23.05) in the 3,000-meter run. Joel Walden (8:29.02) placed fifth in the 3,000 as well.
The team of Mitchell Dowell, Brandon Navin, Caleb Mertens and Brad Jurewicz placed third in the 4x200-meter relay, while the team of Valley, Patrick Kessenich, Henkins and Jurewicz took fourth in the 4x400-meter relay.
Jason Henkins took fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.47.
In the high jump, Ace McCarty placed fourth with a jump of 1.92 meters.
Matt Brendemihl placed fourth in the triple jump with a bound of 13.89 meters.
Women's Results
Amber Williams continued her dominant freshman campaign, placing second in the long jump (5.57 meters) and third in the triple jump (11.90 meters).
Chelsey Heiden placed third in the 5,000-meters at 18:28.54 took seventh in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:33.40.
Caitlin Thomson (1.69 meters) and Alyssa Iserman (1.59 meters) took third and fourth, respectively, in the high jump.
The Pioneers come home for Friday's UW-Platteville Final Qualifier. Events begin at 4 p.m.
