Pioneers Blank Storm at Simpson
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team (6-0-2) scored once in the first half and twice in the second to beat Simpson College (4-5-1) 3-0 on Tuesday evening at Bill Buxton Stadium.

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (6-0-2) scored once in the first half and twice in the second to beat Simpson College (4-5-1) 3-0 on Tuesday evening at Bill Buxton Stadium.
Junior Danny Gutzwiller got the Pioneers on the board in the 36th minute when he converted on a penalty kick.
Gutzwiller doubled UW-Platteville's lead after halftime in the 54th minute on a second goal assisted by senior Clayton Mobile. Later on, senior Alex Wano added some insurance in the 73rd minute on an unassisted goal.
The Pioneers outshot the Storm 17-6 and 8-3 in shots on goal with ten different players attempting a shot.
Junior Seth Aiken picked up another win and his second shutout in net, stopping three shots across the full 90 minutes.
The Pioneers return to action when they travel to UW-Eau Claire on Friday, October 4 for a conference game starting at 7 p.m.
