Pioneers end in 0-0 draw with regionally ranked North Central
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team concluded its final regular season contest against the No. 7 regionally ranked North Central College in a 0-0 draw in double overtime.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team concluded its final regular season contest against the No. 7 regionally ranked North Central College in a 0-0 draw in double overtime.
The Pioneers traveled to the Cardinals' Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium for a competition that saw six yellow cards issued in a 17-minute window, while North Central stacked up 12 fouls to the Pioneers' eight through the 110 minutes of competition.
Overall, the North Central outshot the Pioneers 25-12 while senior goalkeeper Nate Miller accumulated 11 saves against the Cardinals to Soto Marco's four saves.
Junior Ben Geibl led the Pioneers' efforts with three shots with all on goal while senior Brendan Carr also tallied three shots against the Cardinals.
The Pioneers conclude their regular season schedule 8-8-3 while North Central moves to 11-5-2 overall.
The UW-Platteville men's soccer team is not a member of a conference and therefore cannot automatically qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The Pioneers must wait to see if they can earn an at-large bid that is made by the NCAA committee which uses preset criteria to determine the remainder of the field once the 42 automatic qualifiers are set. The NCAA Tournament Selection Show is set for Monday, Nov. 11 at 2:30 p.m.
