Pioneers fall to Augustana
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team fell 3-1 in Wednesday night’s road contest at Augustana College.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team fell 3-1 in Wednesday night's road contest at Augustana College.
The Pioneers (7-8-2 overall) outshot the Vikings (5-5-2 overall) 18-8, but were unable to overcome Augustana's early lead.
The Vikings found the scoreboard early when Daniel Artman assisted Salah Aghlaf in the 12th minute for a 1-0 lead. Aghlaf added one more goal in the 37th minute before teammate Maxim Hamers scored in the 49th minute for the 3-0 Augustana lead.
Freshman Jack Gentilli got the Pioneers on the scoreboard with an assist from junior Addison Freybler at the 64:05 minute mark, but UW-Platteville was unable to narrow the 3-1 gap.
Gentilli had a team high six shots followed by sophomore Noah Mesdjian tallying three shots on the night.
Overall, the Pioneers totaled ten shots in the first half and eight in the second with eight shots on goal compared to the Vikings' five shots on frame.
In goal, senior Nate Miller recorded two saves while Jeremy Klaber tallied seven saves against the Pioneers' offense.
UW-Platteville will return to action and to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium for Senior Day against Washington University at noon on Sunday, Oct. 27.
