Pioneers fall 2-1 on road to #19 Luther
DECORAH, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team fell in the final minutes to the #19 ranked Norse of Luther College on Saturday afternoon.

DECORAH, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer (2-3-2) team fell in the final minutes to the #19 ranked Norse of Luther College (5-1-1) on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers scored first and led for the majority of game when freshman Cayden Carlson scored off a blocked shot into the bottom left corner in the eighth minute of play.
In the end, it was Luther's Marcos Vila who scored both Norse goals with one in the 56th minute and the last in the final three minutes of play when he shot one into the upper right corner.
The Pioneers and Norse each had a total of five shots placed on goal while Luther held the advantage in shots with 13-7. Senior Brendan Carr had a team high two shots with both on goal.
Sophomore Will Sullivan recorded three saves in the 90 minutes while Luther's Carson Davenport tallied four saves.
The Pioneers play their second game of the weekend, but this time at home when they host Minnesota-Morris at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22 in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
