Pioneers rank in Top 20 of United Soccer Coaches preseason poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches released the associations preseason college rankings and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer program claimed the No. 20 spot in the NCAA Division III poll.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches released the association's preseason college rankings and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer program claimed the No. 20 spot in the NCAA Division III poll.
The Pioneers' advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championships in 2018 and marked the second season in a row qualifying for the NCAA Division III Tournament. UW-Platteville held a 7-0-1 winning streak to start off the 2018 season and finished 13-3-3.
Last season, the Pioneers earned placement on the United Soccer Coaches national poll for first time since the start of the 2013 season following the program's 2012 trip to the NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen.
This year marks the first season for head coach, Sam Koenig with the Pioneers and his team reports for preseason on Friday, Aug. 16. The Pioneers' first competition is slated for Aug. 30 against MSOE at 7 p.m. in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
