PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Caleb Sedlacek was named Men's Soccer Capital One Academic All-District® on Thursday.
Sedlacek made the honor squad, which consists of NCAA Division III student-athletes in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, for his work on the field and in the classroom.
The junior defender from Tiffin, Iowa, has helped the Pioneers record seven shutouts this season. He was named second team all-WIAC last year. He helped the Pioneers to their first conference title and advance to the NCAA regional semi-finals in 2012.
A mechanical engineering major, Sedlacek carries a 3.95 grade-point average and is also an academic all-WIAC selection.
To be eligible for the honor squad, a player must be a sophomore or older, be a starter or significant reserve, and be carrying at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average. Nominees are then voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
