UW-Platteville men fall to visiting North Central College, 82-52, in non-conference action

Senior Boston Johnson (Oshkosh) scored a team-high 14 points, to go along with three rebounds, to lead the Pioneers in defeat.
Sophomore Dan Lowe (Byron, Ill.) was the only other UW-Platteville player to reach double figures, finishing with 12 points and three rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench.
Six-foot-eight sophomore forward Alex Sorenson dominated the paint scoring a game-high 25 points on 11 of 17 shooting to lead the Cardinals (2-2) to a 30-point win. He also grabbed five rebounds.
Senior point guard Jayme Moten finished the game with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists for the winners.
Sorenson scored on the opening possession of the game spurring the visiting Cardinals game-opening 12-0 run and later drilled a three-pointer to increase the lead to 15-2. NCC never looked back.
Sorenson finished the first half with 13 points as North Central built a commanding 39-19 advantage.
UW-Platteville fell to 4-3 on the season with the loss.
The Pioneers will return to action Tuesday against Loras (3-3) at Bo Ryan Court. The Duhawks are coming off a 77-72 loss to UW-La Crosse Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
