STEVENS POINT, Wis. – University of Wisconsin-Platteville football head coach Mike Emendorfer achieved 100 wins as the Pioneers' head coach in the 20-6 triumph over UW-Stevens Point at Goerke Park on Sept. 29.
"It has been a great journey with ups and downs to get to 100 wins" said Emendorfer. "I can't say enough how proud I am of what Pioneer football stands for and what it represents."
Emendorfer is in his 20th season in charge of the program and owns a 100- 96 record. In 2016, Emendorfer became the program's winningest coach after surpassing the previous mark of 89-99-14 set by Lester "Butch" Leitl from 1927-63. Emendorfer is the ninth coach in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference archives to reach the 100-win mark.
Emendorfer has earned the WIAC Coach of the Year Award twice and currently holds 10 WIAC records. He has taken the Pioneers to their only two NCAA III playoff berths in school history, in 2013 and 2016.
"I look forward to continue building the program and competing at the highest level," said Emendorfer.
