OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh took both ends of a doubleheader vs. the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday in Oshkosh. The Titans won the opener, 14-4, before taking the nightcap by a score of 12-2. The Pioneers fall to 14-16 overall and 8-12 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Oshkosh improves to 17-10, 14-6 in the WIAC. Platteville returns to action on Tuesday, May 4th when they travel to Menomonie for a twinbill vs. UW-Stout. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1pm.

Tied 1-1 through three innings, the Oshkosh offense came alive in the middle frames scoring 13 runs between the 4th and 6th. It was the middle of the Titan order that did the lion's share of the damage. Three-four-five hitters Jarrett Scheelk, Matt Scherrman, and Conner Guisti combined to go 7-9 with 3 HR and 11 RBI off of Pioneer pitching.
Pioneer CF Jonny Kelso ((Jr./Villa Park, Ill.), gave Platteville an early lead in the top of the first by driving his third home run of the season. Kelso finished game one 2-3, raising his batting average to a WIAC conference-leading .485.

The Pioneers jumped in front again in game two on Mitchell McLaughlin's (Fr./Amboy, Ill.) two-out, two-run double in the top of the first. Oshkosh responded with single runs in the first, third, and fourth innings and a pair of tallies in the 5th. After a scoreless 6th for both teams, Pioneer pitching allowed a pair of bases loaded, bases clearing hits as part of a huge seven-run Titan 7th to end the game via run rule.
Pioneer RF Ross Krist (Jr./Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) reached base three times drawing walks in his first two plate appearances and driving a double to right field in the 7th.
