Pioneers fall in extra innings
DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team fell to University of Dubuque 5-6 in an extra inning game. The Pioneers planned to play two 7-inning games but the second was cancelled due to weather.

The Pioneers fall to 16-18 overall while the Spartans improved to 23-10-1.
In the second inning freshman Ben Espinoza doubled to set up a two RBI single by sophomore Ross Krist that scored Espinoza and freshman Logan Kozak.
The Pioneers lost their 2-0 lead and trailed 4-2 going into the sixth inning. The Pioneers scored three runs on a fielder's choice, wild pitch and walk to go up 5-4. The Spartans scored a run in the seventh inning to force extra innings and one more in the bottom of the eighth for the win.
Junior Josh Moses went 2-of-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Freshman Nate Jenning started the game and threw one hitless inning and sophomore Samuel Peters pitched 2.2 shutout innings.
The Pioneers finish their regular and WIAC schedule this weekend by playing host to University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Games are scheduled for Friday, May 3rd at 1 and 4 pm and Saturday, May 4th at 12 and 3 pm.
