Pioneers fall to #3 Warhawks
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Defending WIAC champion UW-Whitewater showed this past weekend why they are the third ranked team in the nation. The Warhawks swept a four game set with UW-Platteville on Saturday and Sunday at Kendall Murray Field with final scores of 14-3 (8 innings), 7-6, 17-0 (7 innings), and 10-8. The Pioneers fall to 6-26 and 0-16 in the WIAC while the Warhawks move to 22-4, 14-2.

The Warhawks swept a four game set with UW-Platteville on Saturday and Sunday at Kendall Murray Field with final scores of 14-3 (8 innings), 7-6, 17-0 (7 innings), and 10-8. The Pioneers fall to 6-26 and 0-16 in the WIAC while the Warhawks move to 22-4, 14-2.
Jonathon Kelso went 7-for-17 in the four game set and picked up the first two long ball's of his career. Josh Moses had five hits for the Pioneers and scored four times to push his team high total to 32. In game two of the weekend Scottie Gordon made UW-Platteville's deepest start of the season going eight innings, giving up five runs and striking out four.
The Pioneers travel to Chicago next weekend for a four game series with Illinois Tech, and finish their regular season schedule the following weekend hosting UW-Stout.
