Taylor Christopher drove in UW-Platteville's final three runs, leading the Pioneers past host and sixth-ranked UW-Whitewater 5-3 and earning a split in Friday's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Warhawks won the opener 10-0.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville dropped both games of their double header against The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Pointers on Friday, April 14. They fell 18-3 in game one and lost 9-1 in game two.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team spilt a double header against the UW-Stevens Point Pointers on Thursday, April 13, losing game one 10-8 and winning game two 8-1.

Pioneers go 1-3 vs. the Blue Devils
The University of Wisconsin Platteville baseball team opened WIAC conference play by going 1-3 on the weekend, falling 5-4 in the first game, 8-7 in second game in the Saturday double header. On Sunday, the Pioneers lost the first game, 7-3 and the last game of the series, the Pioneer earned their first conference win, beating the Blue Devils 10-6.

Pioneers sweep four-game series from IIT
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville welcomed Illinois Institute of Technology to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference a year earlier than scheduled for the Scarlett Hawks, but the Pioneers were not the most gracious of hosts. UW-Platteville won all four games from IIT, who will be joining the WIAC as an affiliate member in baseball effective with the 2017-18 academic year.

The weekend weather broke just enough for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville team to open its home season Sunday, and the Pioneers took full advantage, beating Northland 5-3 and 6-1 in a pair of seven-inning contests.

Led by the hot bats of Kyle Reinhart and Josh Moses, the UW-Platteville baseball team hit double figures twice in sweeping a doubleheader at Simpson College Wednesday, 14-7 and 10-2.
