Three Pioneers earn WIAC honors

Three University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball players earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors for 2016.
Tanner Galeazzi and Lucas Keller both landed spots on the 20-person first team honor squad, while Evan Greco was named to the all-sportsmanship team.
Galeazzi, a senior outfielder from Greenville, Wisconsin (Fox Valley Lutheran High School), hit .354 with 17 extra-base hits and 42 RBIs in 40 games. He slugged 10 doubles, three triples and three home runs. Defensively, he successfully fielded 103 chances without an error and had four outfield assists.
Keller, a junior right-handed pitcher from Sussex, Wisconsin (Hamilton High School), was 5-3 with a 3.12 earned-run average in 10 starts. In his five WIAC contests, Keller held opponents to a .207 batting averaged and recorded a 2.85 ERA.
Greco, senior outfielder from Greenfield, Wisconsin, hit .303 with a team-high six HRs. He also walked a Pioneer-best 23 times.
UW-Platteville finished with a 20-20 record during the 2016 campaign.
