MADISON, Wis. -- The 2015 All-WIAC baseball team was announced on Tuesday as three of the Pioneers accomplished a position on the honorable mention list.
Junior right handed pitcher Austin Daniels was the only Pioneer thrower who made the list. Daniels, the Miles native, led the team with 63 total innings pitched and threw the sixth most innings in WIAC contests at 41.2. While starting six of the 11 games he pitched in, Daniels also led the team in strikeouts (35), wins (5) and had the lowest ERA (pitching 20 or more innings) at 3.29.
Sophomore second baseman Colin DeBoer made the honorable mention list after leading the 21-19 Pioneers at bats with 154, playing in all 40 games. DeBoer was second on the team in hits (47), doubles (9), RBIs (22), walks drawn (21) and batting average (.305).
Casey Schroeder was the final Pioneer selected to the honorable mention list. The junior shortstop from Lena, Ill. went 32-115 for an average of .278. It was not his batting, but his ability to get on base and around the diamond that earned him his spot on the honorable mention list. Schroeder led the team with an OBP of .461 and drew the most walks (24). Schroeder also tallied the most stolen bases (14) en route to a team high in runs (32) as well. The 14 stolen bases also tied him for seventh in the WIAC.
Senior pitcher Mike Boushley was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. In his three year career in Pioneer blue and orange Boushley started in 21 of the 24 games he pitched in, garnering seven victories over the 152.2 innings he appeared in.
