No. 20 Eagles take two from Pioneers at home
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- After sweeping the No. 20 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse eight days prior, the Pioneer baseball suffered a pair of losses to the Eagles on Wednesday, 20-1 and 18-2, at Kendall Murray Field.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- After sweeping the No. 20 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse eight days prior, the Pioneer baseball suffered a pair of losses to the Eagles on Wednesday, 20-1 and 18-2, at Kendall Murray Field.
The Pioneers were outhit 39-10 in the two game series as both contests were ended in the seventh inning.
UW-Platteville is now fourth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a record of 12-8 and an overall record of 21-15.
Sophomore second baseman Colin DeBoer drove in the lone of the first game off of a fielder's choice in the seventh inning. The Pioneers committed four errors compared to a perfect defensive game by the Eagles. Colton Bormann (2-2) earned the loss for the first game giving up six hits, six runs and two walks in his one inning pitched.
The highlight of the second game came in the seventh inning when sophomore left fielder Kyle Reinhart hit a solo home run in the for his second hit of the game. DeBoer drove in the other run in the third inning, bringing in George Jester III. Senior Trevor Hall recorded his first loss of the year giving up 12 hits and seven earned runs through three innings pitched.
The Pioneers conclude their regular season schedule with a pair of doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday against the Titans of UW-Oshkosh at Tiedemann Field.
