Pioneers name athletes of the week; Johnson & Williams earn WIAC honors
Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Boston Johnson, Sr. (Oshkosh, Wis./Oshkosh North). Guard. Johnson led the Pioneers to two wins, as he averaged 15 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting an extremely efficient nine-of-17 from the field for the week. Johnson led the Pioneers in every major statistical category in their 72-61 victory over UW-River Falls on Jan. 23, as he posted 19 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals. The Falcons entered the game unbeaten in the WIAC. |

Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week – Morgan Horstman, Fr. (Bangor, Wis./Bangor). Guard. Horstman led the Pioneers in their battle with the rationally ranked No. 18 UW-River Falls Falcons on Saturday. The freshman logged 14 points and seven rebounds in the 63-72 road loss. Horstman was a near perfect six-for-seven from the free throw line and had three steals in the game. |

Men's Field Athlete of the Week – Matt Brendemihl, Sr. (Greenfield, Wis./Greenfield). Triple jump. Brendemihl won the triple jump at the UW-Eau Claire Triangular with a jump of 13.84m (45’5”). That mark currently ranks first in the WIAC and 18th on the NCAA Division III national list. |

Men's Track Athlete of the Week – Dan Arnold, Jr. (West Fargo, ND/Fargo Shanley). 55m Hurdles. Arnold won the 55m hurdles at the UW-Eau Claire Triangular. Dan ran a time of 7.58 in the trials and eventually took first in the finals in a time of 7.68. That 7.58 time broke the UW-Platteville school record and currently ranks third (converted to 8.17 for the 60m hurdles) on the NCAA Division III national list. |

Women's Field Athlete of the Week – Amber Williams, Jr. (Milwaukee, WI/Hamilton). Triple jump. Williams won the triple jump at the UW-Eau Claire Triangular on Jan. 23, with a jump of 39-5 1/4” (12.02m). This mark broke the facility record and currently ranks first on the NCAA Division III national list. |

Wrestling Athlete of the Week – Grant Wedepohl, Fr. (Reedsville, Wis./Reedsville). 184-pound weight class. Wedepohl won both of his matches in dual meet action last week. He first defeated Nick Torres of Augustana College 12-0, followed by a six-three decision over Devon McCune of MSOE. The victories moved his overall record to 13-1 for the season. |
