Pioneers name athletes of the week, Tanel and Christopher earn WIAC honors

Baseball Position Athlete of the Week - Taylor Christopher, Senior (Jackson, Minn./Jackson), Shortstop - Christopher hit .464 (13-for-28) with three doubles and one triple, while driving in nine runs in seven games to help the Pioneers to four wins during the week. He went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI against No. 13-ranked College of New Jersey on March 15, and 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI in a 7-4 win over Eastern Connecticut State University on March 17.

Softball Position Athlete of the Week – Thianna Wegner, Senior (Cambridge, Wis./Cambridge), Catcher - Wegner hit a team leading 3-for-12 (.416) as the Pioneers completed their Spring Break Trip in Tucson, Arizona. The senior had a hit in three out of the four games this past week including three hits against MacMurray College, and added hits against both Stevens Institute and Greenville College. 

Softball Position Athlete of the Week - Jessy Tanel, Freshman (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), Firstbase - Tanel went 6-for-11 in UW-Platteville’s first four games on their spring trip to Tucson, Ariz. She recorded a pair of doubles, scored two runs and had one RBI. Tanel has multi-hit performances against Central College (Iowa) on March 11 and Dickinson College (Pa.) on March 12.
