Four Teams At Home This Week

The Pioneers wrestling team hosts its final home dual of the season on Tuesday night, while the basketball teams take on UW-Oshkosh and UW-Stevens Point this week. The track and field teams host the UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday.

Wrestling Hosts Throwdown in the Threatre Tuesday
The Pioneers wrestling team will compete in its final dual before the WIAC Championships when it hosts the annual Throwdown in the Theatre on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. UW-Platteville will take on UW-La Crosse, who enters the week 4-0 in the conference and 11-2 overall on the season.
Men's Basketball Takes on UW-Oshkosh Wednesday
After picking up wins over UW-Eau Claire and UW-River Falls last week, the Pioneers men's basketball moves into the final four games of the regular season, starting with UW-Oshkosh at home on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. UW-Platteville then hits the road to take on UW-Stevens Point at 5 p.m.
The Titans enter the week 10-11 on the season and 3-7 in conference play after beating UW-Eau Claire on Saturday. The Pioneers won the first matchup between the two teams 77-66 on the road in early January. Will Mahoney is UW-Oshkosh's leading scorer at 12.9 points per game.
The Pointers are fifth in the WIAC at 5-5 and are currently the only team to beat UW-Platteville in conference play. Josiah Butler leads the team with 14.7 points per game, while Malik Abdul-Wahid adds 13.5 points.
Women's Basketball at Home Saturday Against Pointers
The Pioneers women's basketball team improved to 6-4 in conference play by beating UW-Eau Claire and UW-River Falls last week and looks to carry that momentum into a road matchup with UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday night. UW-Platteville then returns home on Saturday for a 3 p.m. start against UW-Stevens Point for Senior Day.
The Titans are atop the WIAC standings with a 17-4 overall record and 8-2 mark in conference play. UW-Oshkosh beat the Pioneers 54-47 in the first matchup and boast the best scoring defense in the conference at 48.7 points allowed per game. Kennedy Osterman (10.7 points per game) leads a balanced scoring attack.
The Pointers are 3-7 in conference play with a recent four-point win over UW-La Crosse on Saturday. UW-Platteville took the first contest between the two teams 68-58 a couple weeks ago behind a strong defensive effort.
Track and Field Hosts UW-Platteville Invitational
After a successful showing at the Wartburg that saw several athletes set new personal bests, including a school record, the Pioneers track and field teams will host the UW-Platteville Invitational this Saturday inside the Williams Fieldhouse. Field events will begin at 11 a.m., with running events scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.
