Men's Cross Country - Zach Lee, Junior (Franklin, Wis.) - At the NCAA Regional meet, Lee ran the second fastest 8,000m time in school history. His time was 11-seconds shy of Ian LaMere's record set on the same course two years prior. Zach's time of 23:43 earned him fourth place overall and got him a ticket to the NCAA National meet. Zach ran a personal best by almost a minute and a half and earned All-Region honors for his efforts.

Women's Cross Country - Johanna Meister, Junior (Darlington, Wis.) - Meister ran the second fastest 6,000m race in school history. Finishing just 2-seconds shy of Jackie Mulrooney's record set in 2004, Johanna stormed to the finish to cross in 11th place at the NCAA Regional meet. She improved her previous best by over a minute and bested her 12th place finish at the WIAC Championships two weeks prior. Her efforts earned her All-Region honors and a trip to the NCAA National meet.

Football - Offense - Mark Johnson, Junior (Johnston, Iowa), Wide Receiver - Johnson finished with 16 catches for 275 yards and three touchdowns. Johnson had two long touchdown catches for 66 yards and 43 yards as the Pioneers defeated UW-Stevens Point 34-16. His 275 yards are second highest in school history, and the 16 catches is fourth. Johnson finished the season with 93 receptions and 1,218 yards, both new school records.

Football - Defense - Marty McGrail, Senior (Plainfield, Ill./North), Linebacker - With McGrail playing in only his third game of the season due to an early season injury he ended the day with five tackles, three solo, one sack, one interception, and a pass break up. McGrail's interception ended a Pointers drive as they were moving down the field and sealed the Pioneers 34-16 win.

Football - Special Teams - Connor Foley, Junior (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier), Punter - Foley accounted for four punts totalling 177 yards with a long of 53 yards. Twice he pinned the Pointers within their own 20. Foley's 41.3 yard average on the season is the second highest mark in school history.

Wrestling - Grant Wedepohl, Junior (Reedsville, Wis.), 184 pounds - Wedepohl earned a 4-3 victory over Awais Arain (Loras) on 11/10/17. Arain is currently ranked #6 in the nation by d3wrestle.com while Wedepohl is listed three spots below him at #9.

Men's Soccer - Brad Strobel, Junior (Hartford, Wis./Union), Midfielder - In a 5-0 win over Westminster College (Mo.) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Strobel recorded the first Pioneer hat-trick since 2011. His goals came in the 3rd, 15th, and 67th minutes and helped secure UW-Platteville's fourth ever NCAA Tournament game victory. |
